Warnings: Naughty language, alcohol references
Summary: “If a clock could count down to the moment you meet your soul mate, would you want to know?”
When Lindsey accepts an offer of a job in New York, the numbers on the timer she’s worn since birth jump forward ten years.
At exactly the same moment, Taylor’s timer - broken for the last thirteen years - does something he never expected. It resets.
Status: In progress
Disclaimer: I don’t know Hanson (though it would be very nice), and I am not associated with them in any way, shape or form - I wouldn’t be writing fanfic if I was. This story is being written solely to satisfy my sadist of a muse.

I've wanted to write a story like this for a very long time. The time finally felt right, so I went ahead and started it. It's inspired by two things in particular - this Tumblr post, and a trope called the Red String Of Fate.

If you follow any of the various PTH social media, you may have noticed a lot of talk about the Hall of Fame. You can click on that link to see what it's all about, if you're not familiar with it. Basically, it's just a carefully vetted list of the top twenty fics that define each Hanson era. Well, with the greatest hits album coming out in just a few weeks, it's time to wrap up the Anthem era!

Just as I did for the Shout It Out era, I'm conducting a poll to see what you think are the top fics! With your help, along with that of the judges I've enlisted, we'll be able to come up with a great list.

Read on for the instructions on how to make your vote count, and then do it!

1. Check out the list below the cut to familiarize yourself with the candidates. The link to vote is located below that.
2. You may only vote once. Your vote can be edited if it needs to be.
3. You must vote for exactly ten stories/series. I know it's tough, but it's necessary to get the best results.
4. If a fic you want to vote for isn't listed, double check that A) it wasn't written before 2013 and B) it isn't part of a series/a sequel to a fic that is listed. If neither of those is the case, select the last checkbox for "Other" and write it in.
5. Once you've cast your vote, please feel free to help promote the poll. The more votes, the better! The poll will close on September 8.

I know this community isn't very active, but just in case!

There’s been a ton of discussion this week about the greatest hits album, but I think we can all agree that it’s time to put the Anthem era to bed and move on to new things. Part of that, at PTH.net, means inducting some new stories into the Hall of Fame. But I can’t do that entirely on my own! There will be a public poll in a few weeks, but right now I’m looking to enlist a few special judges, who will help out by creating their own hall of fame lists, assisting with tiebreakers, and more.

If you’re interested in being one of those judges, here are the positions I need to fill. Some spots are already taken, but there’s always a possibility of being an “alternate” in case someone drops out.

News from the Hanfic World!

I guess you could say it's been a little dead around here lately, but I have a few new things to report...

1. Christmas Time a holiday challenge hosted by Becca from JSOR. Unfortunately, I do not have time to write a Christmas Hanfic this year due to NaNoWriMo, but she's currently accepting submissions! Check it out!

2. I have also heard from the grapevine that there may also be another Hanfic Christmas Awards! More details on that soon!

3. Finally, for those of you having a hard time working on your Hanson stories (having a hard time getting motivated and making progress) bittershade has created a chat room for all of us writers to participate in the first ever Hanfic Sprints. It's really easy to join us just go here for a tutorial on how to enter the chat!
- A sprint is basically a writing exercise for a group of people hosted by a moderator where the mod sets a time limit for writing and your goal is to write as much as you can [w/o editing, using backspace, etc] within the set time. Usually you'd write for 10 minutes then you'd take a 10 minute break, hence why they call it a sprint.

I have been participating in sprints while working on my NaNoWriMo novel and it is because of them that I have gotten as far as I have. Sometimes you just need an excuse to get work done, well, this is it! So, please join us tonight, November 17th @ 10PM EST!!! Anyone is welcome!

This is X-posted on LJ, but as you all know, Halloween is my absolute FAVORITE holiday! I love it so much that I decided to host & create a Hanfic challenge. I feel myself getting into the spooky spirit! So, I present to you . . . Trick-or-Treat! A Hanfic Halloween Challenge.

This is not your typical writing challenge though:
- it's going to be a drabble/ficlet/short story activity to help get everyone out of their hiatus and bust that writers block! I know I've been slacking on the updates myself, but I need something exciting to get me out of this slump without having to start a brand new chapter fic.

- ANY genre of fanfic is accepted (slash, gen, het, cest, etc.)The more the merrier!

- the overall theme is obviously Halloween and horror! The best kind, IMO hehe!

- every challenge will be based upon a classic scary movie such as Nightmare on Elm Street, The Craft, Halloween, and Fright Night just to name a few! BUT, if you read the rules, the fic itself doesn't HAVE to be scary so long as you use the specific challenges listed. This should allow for a lot of creative leverage.

- the challenge itself will only last a month so it'll be short and sweet for those who are busy with real life priorities. Trust me, I know it's hard to commit to something with the holidays approaching.

- and I, personally, will post everyone's submissions onto the site for the world to enjoy!

This community has been quiet for a while so I thought I'd post some Hanfic links to things going on and my personal recs (as of late.) Just to spice it up a bit. Commment & chat!

Recs:
1. "Without You" by Robyn, my new favorite author! This story is about Taylor and his bitterness towards the world due to a recent injury that has put him in a wheelchair.

2. "Phoenix" by Amy. A girl and her band are trying to decide whether or not to add Hanson to their tour. This story needs to be updated soon! I miss it!

3. "What's Your Flavor?" by Nat. This is a prompt table based on the infamous You Irritate Me. All stories are about Taylor and the main OFC. They're just as good as YIM so read, read, read!

Fellow writer, Nat and I have decided to start a Hanfic awards ceremony that is not in conjunction with a challenge. We figured there hasn't been a summer awards thus far, and thought now is the perfect time!

This one won't be your ordinary awards though... the Hanson Only Awards honors just the brothers in all genres of Hanfic. The categories in which stories will be nominated, are not of the norm as well. See for yourself!

Summary: In the aftermath of the worst bushfires in Australia's history, two very different bands team up to make a difference.

MTM is the sequel to my story Defying Gravity (in its turn the first story in the Trilogy), and as such Defying Gravity should be read before tackling this one. The most up to date version of that story can be found here.

Also, as a quick note - I'm Australian, and so I do make a lot of references (in this story particularly) to Australian culture and to my local area. Anything I think might be a little confusing is explained in the notes for each chapter, as most of my readers aren't Aussies (and none of them from anywhere near to where I live). :)

He usually got what he wanted by doing the two things he did best… acting charming when it mattered and lying to everyone who loved him. Will Zac continue to decieve everyone around him, or will his lies all come crashing down upon him?
